Developmental Toddler Toys
Developmental toys for toddlers differentiate themselves from educational toys in an important way; they specialize in a particular area of development, such as walking skills, speech, agility, vision, or even potty training.
They don't simply educate your child in a particular area, such as counting, but instead teach a toddler how to use a particular sense or ability instead. The classic game of Concentration can be called a developmental toy, because it teaches a core ability for children to match similar things.
It has been suggested that developmental toddler toys are much more important than educational toys for younger toddlers, and are only to be replaced by educational-only toys after you feel your child has mastered every area of development.
